UUUMMMMM......HI!!!

hehehehhe...i don't blog very well obviously. i guess i just like reading more than writing...(just ask my teachers, they'd agree!!! ;)

well, let's begin with the writing shall we!?!?!?! it has been a very very difficult summer. I'm in STEUBENVILLE and NOT Washington. I think you can probably get an idea for how i feel about that. God had me here for a reason this i know, but that doesn't mean it wasn't painful. i don't want to be a downer, so i will spare you from my complaining!!! The one thing i will share with you is that my Grandpa Manning (my mom's dad) passed away while I was here, actually i was in Nashville when it happened. I know that he is dancing with Jesus and all the little babies in Heaven (my gramps loved babies, just so that doesn't sound a little strange)! i am so happy that he is not suffering but sooooooo sad i won't be able to have our hug again. i will always remember it though. Please pray for me, it's going to be a long year, especially now that i'm a senior...yup, that's right, only one year left.

i know i say it every time (and never follow-through), but how about once more, i'm gonna try to blog more this year! time will tell ;)

Oh yeah!!!! I MADE THE DEAN'S LIST!!!!!!! i feel so smart, hahahahha yeah!

i will be home for two weeks on aug 5th!!! yaya home!!!

DEATH BY THEORY!!!!

I swear if I can get through this I can get through anything!!! Keep praying, it's getting harder. God did answer a prayer in a way. Our professor split up the class, basically those who failed the midterm got moved to a different time and we're going back and reviewing so we can more fully undertand it. I am appreciative, but feel kinda dumb. i know i know.... it's a good thing, but that's just where I am right now. It is the first midterm i have failed and it doesn't feel very good. I hope it will be the last.

Can't wait for Christmas, it'll be good to be home.

MY BROTHER TOMMY!!!

He's coming to visit this weekend and part of next week!!! I am so excited for him to come out!!! I am praying that he'll have a good time and Steubie will leave a good impression on him and be inspiring. I pray for God's will to be done!!! :) Please pray for him, especially that he's not overwhelmed with too much Jesus!!! Is that possible?

Hello all who read the blog o'amy! It has been awhile since I've posted anything, perhaps it because I am not by the internet as much as I thought I was going to be??? Who's to say. I am sooo busy here at school with 9 classes a week, it's a bit overwhelming. Please keep me in your prayers that I can get it all done. the pic is at the very end of the summer right before I left. It is a great shot!!!! I will try to drop a line in every once in awhile and a picture so you can remember what I look like. Most of the time I do stuff on facebook, and if you don't have it you should get it!!! :) Love to you all and God's peace. I am working on surrendering to His will. It is a hard thing to trust, and to be vulnerable before the Lord. I myself want to be perfect and it's hard for me to let my guard down. I am getting there. I always must remember that everything is in God's perfect time.

I'm Home!!!!

It's good to be home, but it was hard at first trying to adjust. It is such a different place over there at Franciscan. It's like a little slice of heaven on earth. The time change threw me for a few days, but I think I'm good now!!!

My brother is getting married in July, so the festivities are beginning. This Saturday is the first bridal shower for Megan's side of the family. The next for her co-workers, and then finally the shower for our side of the family on June 8th!!! The theme is a 'first class picnic'. Their honeymoon is at the Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach, OR so we decided we would kind of have a fancy picnic type of day!!! It should be fun. It's my first shower I've ever done, so it should be interesting as well!!! :-)

EASTER 08

It was a great Holy Week!!! I was away from family for the first time this Easter and I was wondering how I was going to take it. I talked to the fam a couple of times and it was good to talk to them. I was surrounded by the most amazing friends this Easter. They made all the difference in the world. The Easter Vigil was unbelievable. There were four baptisms and multiple confirmations. After every single person was baptized the whole fieldhouse stood up and cheered and screamed and clapped for like 2 minutes straight. It was so moving, I cried and those around me did as well. It didn't matter if we knew that person or not. They were receiving Christ into their lives. A mark forever sealed upon their souls!!! The Power of the Holy Spirit (there's isn't even a word to describe how great it is). I feel like smiling for the rest of my life, even when it becomes difficult and hard to accept. Needless to say...this Easter Octave is certainly fruitful and I'm going to try and make it last and not let the fire die. Well, not die, but certainly fade, as it is easily done when I (we) get caught up in worldy things!!!

ALL DAY IN THE LIBRARY!!!

I am in the library all day today working on a group project that is due Monday. The topic we are proposing is that "rock and rap music can be an effective tool for evangelization" This is our second presentation. the opposing team went a couple weeks ago and said things like the "beat" or "rhthym" of rap music is bad and makes the body do unchaste things. It's gonna be good! Pray for us!!! :)

I'M HERE!!!

This post in mainly for Stella as she reminded me that I need to update my blog more often!!! :) Here are some recent photos during spring break. I got my camera fixed...YAY!!! So, I was making good use of it!!! It snowed both weekends of spring break which left Anne and I stuck in wonderful steubie...not. We wanted out of that city like you wouldn't believe. We tried to make the best out of it!!! The camera working sure did help a lot!!! That's all I got for now. I gotta go search the net for church documents on media and society and read for my sacraments class!!! Thanks for the reminder Stella, blogging is fun!!!

LOOK WHO I MET!!!!!!

For those who don't know, this is Marcus Grodi of the Journey Home Network!!! For Thanksgiving I went with Anne and my cousin Angie to Anne's friends parents house who live in Zanesville which is about an hour and a half away. He is really shy...which was surprising!!! It was the coolest...look at my face!!! I was like a kid in a candy store!!! :-)

And of course...if I see a microphone, I have to pretend to sing into it!!! This was Marcus' chair and mic that he uses for his other program on EWTN.

Of New Years, Car Accidents and a New Semester~

It has definetly been one of the most craziest beginnings of a year i have had. I think i heard someone say that 2008 is gonna be great. Well, I would have to say that they are wrong about that one!!!

After the sweetest wedding ever of Shelley and Jonathon Sproufskee (sprouffske, this is how it is actually spelled. I had to copy and paste it in. I did pretty good, just switched up the e's and f''s!!!), I got really sick with a chest cold, which my mom got just 3 days earlier. I guess the only way that we were going to get to hang out was if I stayed home sick from work, and I was sick indeed. So that was new years eve. Didn't get to hang out with some of the sweet chicks of the EM. So after a week of hacking and coughing, I was starting to feel better...and then...

SMACK... i was on my way home from lunch with my aunt and was hit by a drunk driver. it was so so so scary. they hit me on the drivers side front panel. both air bags went off, and when i tried to get out, I couldn't. panic creeped in a little cause i couldn't breath from the smoke and dust from the air bags. I crawled into the back seat and got out that way. I was in so much shock that I couldn't hardly walk. I am so thankful that I wasn't going any faster. It could have been a lot worse. I have a nasty seatbelt bruise, scraped up my wrist, and my back and neck are very sore.

One kinda nice thing about the accident was the EMT's who showed up to check me out. My oh my were that cute, no wait a minute...HOT!!! i was bummed because they all had gloves on, so I couldn't do the hand check. oh well.

So, I am now recovering in Ohio. It was really fun to see eveyone again, and this semester is looking like it is going to be great. I am excited about all my classes, well except music theory. Some great people that I met are studying in Rome this semester, lucky huh!!! I will miss them. My classes look like this:

In theory class yesterday I may have heard the funniest yet strangest comment. My teacher wrote a bass line, and after he played it and tweeked it a little, he said..."that's a pretty sexy bass line" I think I may have had that deer in the headlights look followed by a frantically squirming ackward turtle. Did he just say sexy??? and was he talking about a bass line???

Gotta run to class now! See ya'll in May. :(

I know, I know, I know!!!

I am not very good at keeping this thing updated. I apologize for not keeping ya'll up to date with my life.

A few things that have been on my mind lately...

I can't believe I haven't been in wa. since August!!! It feels like I just left and also have been gone for a year at the same time.
It has been a really hard semester and I am confused as to why I'm a little sad that it is over???
I miss my family so much it hurts!!!
I want to lose some weight before a wedding at the end of this month. my belly (bertha) has got to go!!! Hey... that may be a shirt worthy saying!!! :-)
Some really good friends that I haven't got close to are leaving to studying in Rome next semester. How lucky are they?!!!??!??!!!

I am home in t minus 72 hours!!! I'm excited to get my mass on at St. Andy's, see family and friends and eat some really really really good food!!! I am going through withdrawls from lack of my grandma's amazing stuffing at thanksgiving!!!

Two early morning Saturdays in Pittsburg!!!

I woke up at about 5:30 today and last Saturday to head to the chapel for 6am Mass before we were to travel to Pittsburg to pray outside of the abortion clinic. It was super early so I was very tired, but as we came into pittsburg my stomach started to turn as we drew closer to the place where murder was taking place. I wasn't sure how my emotions were going to be but I had a lot, I mean a lot of kleenex with me just in case.

We parked across the street and when we were walking over to the other side we saw these people in bright yellow shirts!!! They were bright yellow and in big black letters wrote "PRO-CHOICE ESCORT". I couldn't believe it...and when a girl with either her mom/dad/boyfriend/friend came down the street to enter the abortion clinic, they would surround them in their yellow shirts so the sidewalk counselors can't talk to them and tell them about their options. when i saw this for the first time, i cried because i knew then how serious this battle is. it was so different seeing it with my own eyes. A girl (and that's exactly what they are too...little girls) who has life inside of her when she walks by me, later that day, their is no life. and this is not happening in some other town or city... IT IS RIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A WALL FROM ME!!! My heart was hurting and i got down on my knees and prayed as hard as i could for the child AND the mother!!! i pray that maybe someone passing by in a car or on the street that see's us praying is touched or moved, or maybe something has come over them, and they're not sure what it is, but know that life is somehow different and will never be the same.

a sidewalk counselor came up to us towards the end of the morning and told us that there were two turn arounds that they knew of. PRAISE GOD FOR THAT!!! One life that is saved is a victory.

Just a little visual for you of what we do is: we get into about 4 or 5 groups and spread out on all four corners and up and down the sidewalks, and each group gets into a circle, and then we turn the prayers on. Both saturdays now we have prayed for about 3 to 31/2 hours. In this time we usually get: all 4 mysteries of the Rosary, two divine mercy chaplets, stations of the cross, numerous litany's and songs sung (including: Immaculate Mary, Silent Night, Hail Mary, and others), and lots of St. Michael prayers.

I have to go now, but always remember to pray for the soul's of the unborn children and for mothers that their wombs may be a safe place.

I would like to leave you with a prayer that we say at the end of every decade during the Rosary:

JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH WE LOVE YOU, SAVE THE SOULS OF THE UNBORN CHILDREN, ALL SOUL'S IN PURGATORY, ALL PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS, AND ALL MARRAIGES AND FAMILIES.

JUST BREATH!!!!!

There is an update to my schedule below. I have dropped Latin. My sanity was slipping away from me. One day last week I started freaking out because I didn't have an assignment done, and finally after about a half hour, I realized it was Tuesday and not Wednesday, then I cried. I am now enrolled in a piano class. It has been pretty stressful trying to get organized and transitioned and finally starting to be comfortable with where I am at in my life.

I would like to send an e-prop to miss lindsay m. You are amazing, and helped me just when I needed it. thanks again for your insight!!! You have no idea how much it has helped!!!

I have to run now and practice some musica!!!

This Saturday I will be going into pittsburg to pray outside an abortion mill. This will be my first experience and I am going to bring a box of tissues, and then some extras in my pocket. I will share my experience when I get back!

needless to say...not a lot of time to breath. This semester is leaps and bounds different from last semester. my free time in the evenings will be spent eating and studying and sleeping and more studying!!!!

I auditioned to be a part of music ministry last thurday and i will find out on wednesday if I made it. I will get to sing at mass during the week if I make it and sometimes on Sundays. I still have to sign up for adoration in the Port. I know I definetely need some Jesus time to focus my thoughts and to be strengthened.

She is so special, she is married to her high school sweetheart and they have a 2 year old daughter who is just the cutest thing. Please pray for her in her last days and also for her many friends and family.

THINGS I HAVE LEARNED THIS WEEK...

I hate poetry, and am glad that I am done and don't ever have to read one again. I am hoping I get a B though.
I love Washington. When your in Steubenville on a warm day, it feels like your breathing in very potent chemicals. Seriously, gross.
I am very fortunate to be here in Ohio studying at the BEST College ever!
I love Jesus...Oh, wait I already new that. Do you love Jesus? He's the best, you should give 'em a try, He'll love ya back, but 100 times more!!! :)
I am nervous as to how challenging next semester is going to be. I think this semester was definetely the honey moon period.
I realize that I may complain too much. I am working on it. Notice my first bullet point, I HATE POETRY!!! LOL
I am so excited about this summer, it is going to be tons of fun!

NINTH INNING, 2 ON, 2 OUT!!!

Finals are here. I just finished a rough draft on one paper, starting on another paper early this week, while studying for two other finals and writing a 32 measure song for my music final. Wow, it is going to be a long week. I know your all praying for me, but a few extra Haily Mary's would be great!

Well, there is a new update about New York!!!!!! I'M GOING TO NEW YORK FOR 5 DAYS!!! We are staying with Alice's friend, Sister Nancy, which is about 40 minutes NE of the city. I get to witness the CFR's getting ordained at St. Patrick's Cathedral. It is going to be so amazing.

I will be home on May 16th!!! I can just see Mt. Rainier and the Puget Sound!!! Okay I gotta stop or I won't get anything done.

Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of my parents being here, it was just busy, busy, busy!!! It was the weirdest Holy week I have ever had. On Wednesday, I went to the emergency room because of extreme stomach pain, let me tell you...I am so glad my parents were there. I am okay, don't know what it was, but I am glad it went away. The Triduum and Vigil were just the coolest. My parents left on Easter morning, it was sad to say goodbye, but I was looking at my calendar and can't believe there are just shy of 4 weeks left of school, that is just amazing! I will be home in just 5 weeks or so!!! :)

(UPDATE... I AM NOT GOING TO NEW YORK ANYMORE... DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT IN MY BELLY!!! :)

It is going to be a crazy summer with Weddings, voice training, working, learning latin and singing at Mass!!!

I have my schedule for next semester:

- Elementary Latin (I'm scared!!!)

It wouldn't be right not to give piggy and snowman there own little spot!!! These guys were most of our fun, when you're stuck in a car for 5 days you are bound to go a little nuts. I would like to thank piggy and snowman for letting us be goofy and laugh so hard that I thought I was going to have to make a quick rest stop visit!!! :) Oink, Oink, hahaha, Ooooooiiiinnnkkk, snort, hahaha squeal!!! The First Part of our Road Trip, this canyon appeared out of no where in Twin Falls on our way to an Adoration Chapel with the biggest Monstrance I had ever seen. (I didn't think it would be appropriate to take a picture.) Now that is a small town, we passes another town, but I didn't get a picture of it, that only had a population of 65!!! :) One night we stayed at a convent with Benedictine Sisters, this is Victoria's friend Gina who is a postulant (spell?) who had only been there for about 3 months. It was such a treat for her to see a friend!!! :) And much of the road trip was like the last picture...flat, flat, flat!!!

So now there's me and Jen before a fun night in Pittsburg. The snow on campus and then a tree the was so cool looking because it is completely frozen and the sun was shining on it. I hope you can tell. (My mom thought it was cool and she said: oh mi gosh Amy, you should show your photographer friend that, gosh I always forget her name...(you mean Shelley)...yeah that's her!!!) I thought it was cute! So, the next two are from a GNT Formal (grad/non-traditional students) a couple weekends ago. There's me before the ball! HOLY WEEK IS UPON US!!!

Palm Sunday was amazing here, I have never been so moved by people dancing with palms before. It's almost as if I felt Jesus entering in. WOW!!! Praise God. That's my new phrase these days!!! PRAISE GOD...PRAISE GOD...PRAISE GOD!!!! :)

My parents are coming in today to be with me for Holy week and I am so excited!!! It is truly a blessing to be able to celebrate Easter not only at Franciscan in Ohio, but with my parents in Ohio!!! I feel so special.

It is beautiful out today, almost 80 degrees, but not for long...tomorrow it is supposed to SNOW...that's right SNOW!!! What the heck is up with that??? April showers bring snow flowers...no, that's not how it goes.

Hi!

Sorry it has been so long since I have written...it has been crazy non-stop since I have gotten back from the road trip which was soooo great! I had a blast. I know I keep saying it but I will have pictures for ya as soon as I can! :) Pray for me, I am most likely going to change my major. After being in the Catechetics class, it doesn't seem to be where I am called. I am looking into the new music major that they have available now, and then I would get a minor in theology.

I need prayer, prayer, prayer!!! Don't get me wrong I love being here and learning these great things about my faith.........but I miss my home...I miss my friends...miss, miss, miss!!! I know that I am becoming a stronger person out of this, it is just really hard sometimes. Love you all see ya in May! Except I get to see my parents next week!!! They will be here for Holy week and the Easter Vigil...how pumped am I!!!! :) luv, luv

HELLO WASHINGTON!!!

I MADE IT!!!!!! I AM DONE WITH MID-TERMS!!!

I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF TOO...I FEEL GREAT ABOUT 3 TESTS AND NOT GOOD ABOUT 1. I know I have to work harder for that class.

Happy Happy Joy Joy!!! I was up till 2:30am this morning studying for my Catechetics test and it paid off!!! Praise God!!! I think I may be going a little looney due to lack of sleep!!!

I AM COMING HOME FOR A COUPLE DAYS!!!! AND I GET TO SING WITH MY PEEPS ON SUNDAY NIGHT AT ST. ANDY'S!!! I am hoping to see most of you this weekend.

I need lots of prayers for next week...two friends from college and I are driving my car back to Ohio for Spring Break!!! I can't wait to have my car...so I can give rides to other people who don't have cars, cause now I know what it feels like to be carless!!!

I have a paper due on Thursday, so I have to get started on that!!! Sorry about no pictures... I couldn't find my USB port. I might have to just buy a new one!!!

PRAISE GOD...PRAISE GOD...PRAISE GOD!!!

Oh, I almost forgot to let ya'll know!!! I am 1 of 9 girls selected to be in the ALL WOMEN'S A CAPPELLA GROUP CALLED "THE ANNUNCIATIONS" We will be singing sacred music as well as uplifting secular music. I can't wait to get started!!!

I am off and running...4 days till I land in WA.

A fun weekend ahead!!! OOOHHHHH, I AM SOO EXCITED!!!!!

But, the fun part for me is that I am not going to tell you what it is!!!

You'll just have to wait and see!!!

Hopefully by Monday I will have a lot of pictures for you on my blog!!! :) It is so pretty out here. We had a snow storm...it snowed all day on Tuesday, and then it started up with the freezing rain, and then again it froze. So the front yard looked like a ice skating rink. It was awesome and school was cancelled on Wednesday, my first snow day!!! In the morning it snowed again and into the afternoon. Last night it got down in the single digits and the snow on top of the ice on top of the snow was all sparkling like beautiful diamonds. I soooo thought of Shelley and Kili and how they would have loved all the idea's for taking awesome and breathtaking pictures!!! I tried my best with my little digital camera!!!

Well I am off to read and write and read yet some more!!!

I hope ya'll had a WONDERFUL Valentine's Day. I got a pink spotted giraff and a hersey with almond's bar. It was lovely. And...no...I didn't have a Valentine...it was the Heaps' who love me, and that is okay by me!!! :) They are great people and I don't know what I would do without them!!!

Oh, by the way...gimme a call. I would love to hear from you...I get busy with studying, but I love a good reason for a break!!!

It is SOOOOOO cold!!!

let me tell you...there is nothing like walking to class in 11 degree weather and you have to keep a scarf over your mouth or else your lungs hurt!!! NOT FUN!!!

I finally have a picture in case you have forgotten what I look like...and the beautiful as ever Ms. Jen Heaps!!! The only reason I have this picture is cause of Jen's camera...thanks babe!!! :)

My classes are going well...I am really homesick right now...last night was really bad. :( I miss St. Andy's music groups...I miss singing with you...I miss girls group...you ladies light up my world!!!

I can't wait for this summer, so I can give ya'll the longest hug ever!

My Friends!!!

Currently I am in the Library listening to music (on my headphones). It has been definetely an interesting week. So, my major has been undeclared since I decided I wanted to attend FUS. The first day of classes it hit me like a ton of bricks what I am supposed to be learning about. I HAVE A MAJOR PEOPLE!!!! I am soooo excited. Oh, you probably want to know what it is huh??!?!! Catechetics...I will be majoring in Catechetics. We will be finding out on Friday if the University will be offering a major in Music. If they do then I may do a possible double major with Music and Catechetics. Most likely I will be here in college mode for up to three years. I am not in a hurry and I want to get a solid education, so that means lots of studing and tutors to help my brain get smarter!! :) So, after dropping three classes and adding two...I have my schedule:

- Intro to Catechetics
- Studies in Poetry
- Foundations of Catholicism
- Fundamentals of Music

I will be working maybe 3-5 hours per week as a shuttle driver on campus. I will be singing with the Schola Cantorum Franciscana Choir. I am holding off on doing the music ministry until next semester, I don't want to do too much at first.

Well I am off the read the catechism. I hope ya'll are enjoying the snow. It has dusted twice, but nothing to write home about!!! I am missing you all so much and can't wait to see you.

Oh yeah and the homilies at Mass here are out of the world!!! The Holy Spirit is around you all the time and there hasn't been a Mass where I haven't cried. I am just not used to feeling how much Jesus really loves me. Oh, please come visit...you won't regret it!!! :)

HHHIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is the day ladies and gents when I begin orientation. School classes start on January 15th. In approximately 1 1/2 hours I will be getting my schedule adjusted (there's no way I can start out with 5 classes....craziness!!!) Getting my student I.D. Chossing a household I would like to be a part of. We have small groups, I get fed all during orientation (I already like this place!!!). TOmorrow we start with morning prayer (7am...some people crave getting up that early...I just don't understand them :) but I love them!!!) Everyday there is Mass and on Saturday there is gonna be a dance. I don't know if Ohio is ready for the danceing styles of miss g-pity. We will soon find out!!! I need help (shelley, stella, kili...) when I want to do a new post, there isn't a line for a title, how can I get that to show up???

The girls went to Pittsburg last Thursday!!! It was totally awesome...and one of the best things is that they have Bucca de Beppo, and it was perfect!!! EM...ya'll have to come out and go to Station Square...it is truly beautiful. I will have pictures for you soon, left my usb port at home like an idiot!!!

It snowed the other night, but not much. Today it is cold and sunny beautiful blue sky. The sunrise this morning was out of this world. I have heard that it is crazy snowy in good ol Washington. I miss the mountain (it is flat over here...yuck) and I miss all of you. See you in about 5 months!!! :)

Alright my people...

There are only 3 1/2 days until I am outta here. and I am betting it is going to be one big emotional rollercoaster ride. I tried to prepare myself, but I think there is only so much you can do that, then you're left with the tears and home sickness. Is it a bad sign that I am already a little homesick and I haven't even left yet.........I'll take the head tilt and sigh that it is. please pray for me!!! :)

I am down to exactly three weeks from today. I just started packing, and boy do I have a lot of crap!!! I have to work on that one.

Don't worry I haven't forgotten about my blog!!! I will pick up the pace as soon as I don't have a job and when I get a computer. It's pretty hard to blog with no computer!!!

I love Christmas...because that's when Jesus comes to us! And I think you all know that...

Here it goes...

My life as I know it will soon be flipped upsidedown. In approximately 44 days I will be Ohio bound. I will be sharing my life as my path is laid in front of me at Fransican University. I can't tell you how excited I am, and mostly at this point, scared of being so home sick I will cry everyday. Here's to the world of blogging...let the games begin.
